Black and white

Farhan of Happy Grub invited me and others to post some black and white pictures a while back. I love black and white photography but I think it’s very difficult to do that for prepared food. But I wanted to see if some of my pictures worked in black and white too. I think the pictures below work in black and white. If you want to see the post with the picture in colour, just click the picture.

Even though I think these work in black and white, I love them better in colour 😉

It’s fun to do so if you have some time to spare, check out which of your pictures work in black and white….

btw sorry for the lack of posts but my birthday is coming up and I have to prepare a lot of food for that. I’m making two pretty (I hope!) cakes and a Middle Eastern buffet for 25 so I’ll leave you with these pictures and drive to the market to get more ingredients so I can cook and bake more stuff!

Yes, you are right, it is difficult to take black and white food photos…

    Yours look good, though!

That last picture works especially well in b/w, I think. The contrasting patterns really pop out.

I love the first photo so much. The composition is already perfect to begin with, but the touch of black & white adds a dreamy touch to it. Lovely, Linda!

Oh, happy birthday in advance 😉

  9. try using filters in e.g. photoshop or gimp. you can make green darker, or red lighter, as you see fit.

Those pictures work well as b/w, my favourite one would be the first one. Added contrast would make the dark and lighter areas separate more?

I too wish you a happy birthday 🙂

    You are a leo?

That middle eastern buffet sounds delicious.

  11. linda says:

    Thanks everyone 🙂

    Emilia – yes I’m a leo 🙂

  12. Happy Birthday in advance, Linda! I hope it’s everything you want it to be and more.
