The real reason for my lack of inspiration…

So now you know the reason for my lack of inspiration 🙂 It has everything to do with the fact that this little ‘parasite’ (and I mean that in the most loving way) has been making me very nauseous. I can tell you, it’s no fun to feel like you have to throw up all day. Even though I was very nauseous with my other pregnancies too somehow it’s not something you get used to.

For someone who loves her food and drinks, not being able to enjoy them anymore is no fun, no fun at all. The smell of cookies is off putting enough not to bake. But enough whining….the last couple of days the nausea is improving a bit and I can eat a larger variety of things now. Hopefully it will be over soon and I can start baking on a serious level again 🙂

Talking about baking, a couple of weeks ago Vibi of La casserole carrée emailed me about a cupcake event she is organizing with Isabelle of Les gourmandises d’Isa. Last (and first) time round it was all about Spring cupcakes, this time around the theme is Christmas. And she asked me te be one of the judges 🙂 only downside is I cannot participate ;( at least not to compete for a prize. But I already have some ideas for a ‘dummy’ entry 😉

Check out their blogs for all the details, deadline for entering is December 17th.

Oh my goodness, congratulations!! I hope your appetite returns soon, and you can turn this little one into a foodie while still in the womb. 🙂

  3. Astrid says:

Congratulations! Oh the magic of what’s happening in you, it’s so wonderful. Yes you feel sick, but you’re creating a life! Now that I know I won’t have another child, I feel sad that every little nausea or heart-burn is just my body being difficult, rather than a sign of new life… It was so much more poetic before! Enjoy every good moment, and good luck for the difficult ones. The baby stage, as you know it, is so short and precious.

  4. I find that very inspirational! Congratulations!

I very much appreciate that this is a parasitic state in all the best ways.

Heehee 🙂 A good friend of mine also called her baby in the belly as a parasite. But we’re a bunch of scientists so we’re clinical by nature. Congratulations and I hope the nausea passes sooner than later.

  17. Congrats ! You are totally forgiven for your lack of inspiration ! Even though I never felt nauseous during my pregnancies, I can understand how disturbing it can be for a foodie…
